BETTY DAVIS/The Funk diva is in Playboy... sorta

Betty Davis is HOT!

No, not the one that Kim Carnes sang about! That's Bette Davis!

No, this one is better. And hotter. And funkier! Besides, she got her last name because she was married to the only and only Miles Davis!

Look at what Playboy.com had to say about this funkin' funky funker!
"Betty Mabry was only married to Miles Davis or a year (the Jazz great later explained in his autobiography that she was “too young and wild” for him), but her influence on Miles was deep, introducing him to her friends Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone and inspiring him to fuse jazz and rock on his landmark 1970 album Bitches Brew.

She kept her ex’s name, but musically Betty was her own woman: The former model loved funk, oozed sexuality and aimed to seduce and destroy. (In fact, some of her songs were so explicit that she was banned from a few radio stations in the 1970s and drew the ire of the NAACP.) On her first three albums she purred, shrieked and nearly reached through the speakers to rub her panties in your face; Now, after more than three decades, Light in the Attic Records has unearthed her lost fourth album Is It Love or Desire. You can download the title track below, and if you like what you hear, go ahead and dive deep into her catalog here. It’s hot and dirty, the way funk ought to be. Don’t say we didn't warn you."
